Lion
Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the Southern portion
of the 65,000-hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve, an area well known
for its high concentration of wildlife through both the dry
and wet seasons. The Southern boundary is shared with the Kruger
National Park along 10.5km of Sabie River frontage with the
wildlife moving freely across the river, between the two reserves.
The property's geographical location is an area of great diversity
of both fauna and flora and affords us unique activities based
around the river system and surrounding area. Lion Sands is
situated in one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Southern
Africa.

Lion Sands consists of two lodges namely,
- River Lodge - with
14 river-view thatched rooms (28 beds) with en-suite
bathroom, shower, private game viewing deck and outside
shower.
- Private guest lounge, sundeck and bar, swimming
pool, and health spa, curio shop, indoor and open-air
(Boma) dining area, conference venue, 3 river hides,
1 waterhole hide with hammocks.
- South Camp - With
6 luxurious thatched rooms (12 beds) with en-suite
bathroom, shower, private game viewing deck and outside
shower.
- Private guest lounge, sundeck and bar, swimming
pool, health spa, curio shop, indoor and open-air
(Boma) dining area, 1 private Sala, 2 river hides
and 1 waterhole hide.
Both lodges have been decorated in an old African style.
The feel is cool, light, minimalist and African. The Lodges
take full advantage of views over the Sabie River. Communal
areas are open-plan and extend on to a wooden deck, which
overlook the river. The swimming pools have been built
with a zero-edge overlooking the river.
River Lodge is situated
downstream of South Camp. We have ensured that the rooms
in River Lodge are similar to the rooms in South Camp.
This allows us to offer the group market a 40 bed lodge
as the separation between the two camps has been done
in such a way that we can open up the South Camp rooms
to River Lodge where all facilities are capable of handling
a group of 40 persons.
South Camp is the more exclusive
camp by nature of its smaller size and luxurious public/communal
area with private pool. The separation between the two
camps has been done in such a way that when South Camp
is occupied, guests are unaware of River Lodge. Both camp/lodge
are accessed using their own Private access road. |
