Situated in the heart of Madikwe Game Reserve on the border of Botswana, the Madikwe River Lodge invites you to share the wildness and splendour of Mother Africa in exquisite comfort. Surrounded by 75 000 hectares of African sandveld, this luxurious lodge is ideally positioned on the Groot Marico river, in a malaria-free area.

Madikwe River Lodge offers exclusive accommodation in sixteen secluded split-level thatched chalets set in the cool tranquility of a riverine forest. Each chalet is individually decorated to create a rich African ambience, without compromising on luxury. All offering an en-suite bathroom, lounge, bar-fridge and private wooden viewing deck overlooking the river, the chalets provide a highly comfortable haven in the heart of Africa.

The experienced game rangers generously share their intimate knowledge of the bush as you venture on your many safari rides or game walks. Situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, on the border of Botswana, 31/2 hours drive from Gauteng and a mere 45 minutes by aircraft. This lodge intimately positioned on the banks of the Marico River, in the North West province, boasts the 2nd largest elephant population in South Africa, and is home to the Big Five. Madikwe River Lodge is a malaria free resort.

Childrens Policy

Children are welcome, but children 8 years and under are not permitted on the main game drive. The lodge does however offer a shortened children’s drive. Children 8 years and under are also not permitted in the boma area for meals, but are required to have their meals in the dining room.

Dinner is served in the boma, and bush dinners can be arranged on request. Lunch is served on the main deck area, while breakfast is served in the enclosed dining room.
