Die
Ou Pastorie restaurant, set in the historic old parsonage offers
a dining experience not to be forgotten. The restaurant has
been nominated as The Top 100 Restaurants in South Africa (2000
throughout to 2004).
From the à la carte menu, a superb array of dishes will
satisfy even the most discerning palate. Carmen Truter, our
Executive Chef, assisted by Brian Van Zijl and staff, uses innovative
flavour combinations, the freshest ingredients and herbs from
the garden.
Our menu changes at least four times a year, ensuring that the
menu reflects at all times, the best available seasonal ingredients.
The award-winning restaurant overlooks a tranquil garden, where
in summer, sundowners and after dinner drinks can be enjoyed
on the veranda or alternatively the ladies bar, enhanced by
a cracking fire for those rainy days. It is the perfect venue
for any occasion, such as office parties, celebrations and weddings.
We can design a variety of set menus, which are perfect for
larger
functions.
The Diners Club award winning wine list (1996 - 2002) and the
Top 100 restaurants 5 Star wine list which compliments the menu,
reflects a fine choice of varieties and cultivars from full
bodied Cabernets to crisp Chenin Blanc's. These wines have been
carefully selected for your enjoyment, from a vast array of
Wine Estates in the Western Cape.
The cuisine is classically based from interesting salads and
starters, a number of original Vegetarian specialties and hearty
seasonal soups. Fresh seafood's and line fish from the Cape
waters. Meat options include Venison, Lamb and our ever-popular
Duck à l'Orange. We must also not forget our delectable
desserts for the sweet toothed.
