Summerwood is the perfect base from which to explore the world-renowned Cape winelands. Other nearby leisure activities include golf, historical walks around Stellenbosch, mountain biking, horse riding and hiking. If you’d prefer to stay on the grounds, enjoy a leisurely swim in the pool before unwinding with a drink under the shade of a large Stinkwood tree.

Summerwood, only twenty minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport, is situated in the beautiful university town of Stellenbosch, founded in 1679. Meander through the quiet tree lined streets and soak up the atmosphere of remarkably preserved Cape Dutch architecture, tempting shops and inviting pavement cafes. Explore the winelands of the Cape or play a round of golf. Visit Cape Town and its landmarks, or enjoy the beauty of a scenic drive around the peninsula.

Summerwood Guest house is in the picturesque university town of Stellenbosch, which is in the heart of the winelands that produce some of the world's finest wines. Stellenbosch is about 50km along the N1 highway from Cape Town city centre.

From Cape Town International Airport, take the N2 highway in the direction of Stellenbosch / Somerset West.
Proceed on N2 until Exit 33, (Stellenbosch / Eerste Rivier turn-off) turn left and continue on the R310 until the T-junction.
At the T-junction turn right. After approximately 2.5 Km's you will reach a set of traffic lights. Continue straight over, passing Stellenbosch Farmers Winery (S.F.W.) on the right. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right (a Shell garage is on the corner).
This is now Dorp Street. Continue through one set of traffic lights and at the first pancake (small, flat circle in the road) turn left into Mill Street. A dress shop called 'Avante' is on the corner.
At the traffic circle, turn right into Plein Street. Continue straight up Plein Street and Van Riebeck Street until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left hand fork, this is Jonkershoek Road. Summerwood is 200 metres up the road on the right hand side, number 28.
