David Golf Club
King David Golf Club, prides itself on having one of the
Cape's premier layouts. ‘Compleat Golfer’ recently
profiled the course and concluded "because it is
such a fine layout it should really always be among the
frontrunners when Cape Town's best courses are discussed".
Designed by the late Bob Grimsdell, South Africa’s
leading golf course architect, the club was officially
opened in 1955. The new clubhouse with it’s ultra
modern facilities was re-opened in 1998.
The renaissance of King David Golf Club over the past
three years has resulted in the hosting of some major
tournaments including the annual Tour Seniors PGA Championship,
which sees it’s second year at this prestigious
club. King David is renowned for it's jovial atmosphere,
it’s warm service, it’s stylish venue and
most importantly, it’s exciting golf course.
Club History
King David has hosted numerous tcp-class amateur events
such as the Sa Maccabi Nationals, the Nomads Nationals
and the SA University Championships. It has also hosted
the Richelieu Open and two Western Province opens as well
as the exhibition match between Gary Player and Lee Trevino.

The Pro Shop
Run by Richard Pickering, the Pro Shop has all the latest

such as Golf Clubs, Golf Carts and Caddy Carts etc.
The Bar
Seating in excess of 140 people, the newly renovated bar
provides a warm welcome to visitors and members through
it’s carefully designed interior. Many executives
have been known to spend their free time socialising in
this breathtaking environment throughout the year. The
bar has also proved ideal for hosting company functions
and conferences.
The Halfway House
The halfway house and catering facility offers freshly
prepared snack style food combining quality and value
for money. A lunch special is available daily.
Locker Rooms
Unique too, about King David Golf Club are the locker
rooms, both lady’s and men’s are probably the
finest in the country. Members, visitors and corporate
groups can have their own personalised lockers in a five
star environment.
Function Hall
Whether it be prize-givings, company presentations, functions,
conferences, live shows or weddings, the function hall,
seating up to 250 people adds to the array of facilities
available at this venue. With it's stage, in-house catering
facilities, tables, chairs, PA system, podium etc, this
venue can be utilised to meet just about any requirements.
Event Coordination
Through the professional club management and the services
of a renowned eventing company, King David Golf Club offers
a unique opportunity to take the hassle out of ‘arranging’
an event. Services here include an entire package from
