repertoire of signature-designed courses worldwide. The
Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg
and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vineyards with
The Berg River water hazard running through it! Pearl
Valley Signature Golf Estate and Spa is destined to become
the premier residential golf estate in South Africa. Designed
on 212 hectares of tranquil surroundings for those who
expect exclusivity and the finest quality lifestyle yet

The fairways are unique in that they have been sown with
‘all season cool grass’ imported from the USA,
a first in South Africa. With 17 hectors of running water,
water hazards come into play on just about every hole.
Typical of a Jack Nicklaus design there are many bunkers,
76 to be exact, which have been cleverly sculptured into
the fairway and around the greens!
The course is so new that a signature hole has not
been decided on but the resident pro assures us that
it’s the par-three 13th. The green is situated
on the edge of a small dam that must be cleared with
a bunker guarding the far side.
Location
From Cape Town take the N1 towards Paarl, taking exit
59 towards Wellington/Franschhoek. Turn right under the
bridge & proceed towards Franschhoek on the R301 /
R303 & follow the signs to Pearl Valley Estate.

Pearl Valley Spa
Pearl Valley Spa. This sumptuous complex combines facilities
for health and beauty treatments plus state-of-the-art
support systems for exercise and fitness. Running, walking
and cycling trails traverse the estate - encouraging physical
activity, while the equestrian centre is an invitation
to stable a horse on the estate. There is tennis and squash,
and a variety of water sports; the largest of the lakes
offers canoeing, windsurfing and small-craft sailing.
And the beautiful Berg River which runs through the valley
is the fly fisher's dream.
