16 day / 15 night tour: Cape
Town - Garden Route - Kariega Game Reserve
You will visit Cape Town, voted one of the top 5 cities in the world,
the lush Winelands, home to many world renowned wine-estates and historical
buildings, the famous Garden Route featuring farms, forests,pristine
beaches and rolling hills flanked by numerous mountain ranges. Finally
a Safari at Kariega Game Reserve where you will experience game drives
and river cruises in a malaria free environment including a visit
to Shamwari Game Reserve (Big 5) & Addo Elephant Park.

Day
1:
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met
and transferred to the Portswood
Hotel where you will spend 5 nights on a bed
& breakfast basis.Your hired vehicle (to own account) will
be delivered to your hotel shortly after your arrival. Spend
the balance of the day exploring the Waterfront shops, restaurants
& entertainment.
DAY 2
This morning play golf at the Milnerton Golf Club or Atlantic
Beach Golf Estate (both "Links" courses). This
afternoon optional tour around the city and visit Table Mountain
(weather permitting).
DAY 3
Play golf this morning at Royal Cape Golf Club or Steenberg
Golf Estate and spend the balance of the day at leisure.
Optional: Take a cruise to Robben Island or Seal Island.
DAY 4
Play golf this morning at either Westlake or Clovelly.
Optional: Visit the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, continuing
thereafter to Cape Point Nature Reserve.
DAY 5
Spend the entire day at leisure: Laze on one of Cape Town's
pristine beaches, enjoy more sight-seeing or shopping at Canal
Walk - Century City, Cape Town's popular shopping Mall. For
golf requirements visit The Pro Shop at N1 City.
DAY 6
Transfer this morning to Stellenbosch, where you will stay at
The
Village at Spier for 2 nights B&B (allow
40 min traveling time). Play golf on the Spier De Zalze Course
this afternoon.
DAY 7
Play golf this morning on the Erinvale Golf Estate or
Pearl Valley Golf Estate and spend the balance of the
day exploring Stellenbosch, the 2nd oldest town in South Africa
or enjoy a wine tour of one of the many estates in the area.
(Please note that Erinvale course may be closed to the public
during part of the season).
DAY 8
After a late breakfast commence your journey along the scenic
Garden Route and check in at The
Wilderness Beach Hotel, a short drive past George, where
you will stay for 2 nights B&B (allow 4 - 5 hours
traveling time)
DAY 9
Play golf this morning on Fancourt "Links" Course,
host to the 2003 Presidents Cup. (closed during Nov 03)Spend
the afternoon exploring the area or optional: visit Oudtshoorn
(Cango Caves, Ostrich Farm and Wildlife Centre) or have a "game"
style lunch and game drive at Botlierskop Game Farm near Big
Brak.
DAY 10
Golf today on the George Golf Course and then enjoy the
40min scenic drive to Knysna where you will stay at the very
central Knysna
Log Inn for 3 nights B&B
DAY 11
Take a 30min drive to Plettenberg Bay and spend the day at leisure
lazing on Pletts stunning beaches or enjoy the many wonderful
sight seeing attractions.
Optional activities: Along route visit the Knysna Elephants
where you can feed, hug and touch these gentle giants.Dolphin
/ Whale-watching cruises, Monkeyland, Glider flips over the
bay, Buffalo Hills Game drive and more.
For extra golf, play 9 or 18 holes at Goose Valley
DAY 12
Play golf at Pezula Club (Sparrebosch) and then take
a cruise (to own account) to the famous Knysna Heads followed
by fresh oysters/seafood on the quayside.
DAY 13
This morning drive to Port Elizabeth and return your hired vehicle
to the rental company. You will be met by a representative of
Kariega who will transfer you to Kariega
Game Lodge where you will stay in the Main Lodge for
3 nights on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis inclusive
of 1 game activity per day as well as a day tour to Shamwari
Game Reserve (Big 5) and Addo Elephant Park. You can
also enjoy free walks along the game trails at Kariega.
Experience your first game drive or river cruise this evening.
DAY 14
You will be taken on a day visit to Shamwari
Game Reserve, which contains The Big 5.
DAY 15
Enjoy another Kariega
activity today as well as your tour of the Addo Elephant Park.
DAY 16
After this mornings game drive and breakfast you will be transferred
to Port Elizabeth Domestic Airport for you flight to either
Cape Town or Johannesburg to connect with your onward flight
home.
