DAY 1
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will
be met and transferred to the luxurious Michelangelo Hotel
in Sandton City, where you will be staying for 2 nights on
a Bed and Breakfast basis.
DAY 2
Play golf this morning at the prestigious, platinum rated
Houghton Golf Club.
One of Johannesburg's mature parkland layouts and host to
many of the Alfred Dunhill Championships and SA Opens. It
is both a challenging and an aesthetically pleasing course:
a proclaimed bird sanctuary and thickly treed with bluegums,
willows and jacarandas with varieties of flowering shrubs.
Not a long course by modern standards (5237 m; par 72), it
remains challenging and has the reputation of testing every
club in the bag, but remains its quality and charm by rewarding
and pleasing its golfers of all skill levels.
DAY 3
Check out of the Michelangelo and transfer yourself to the
Hans Merensky Country Estate in Phalaborwa, the Limpopo Province,
where you will be staying for 2 nights on a B & B basis.
DAY 4
Play golf this morning at the silver rated Hans Merensky Golf
Club.
Another fine course where the main attraction is the visiting
wildlife - the course borders the Kruger National Park and
many of the Park's inhabitants pay scant regarding the fencing,
which is an unusual benefit to enjoying the round! Magnificent
bushveld trees line the fairways and form backdrops to the
holes. The course is truly a revelation and can be enjoyed
by golfers of all talents. It is a 6 127 m / par 72 course.
DAY 5
Check out of The Hans Merensky Country Estate and transfer
yourselves to the Ngala Private Game Reserve for your Big
5 safari experience. Here you will be staying for 2 nights
on a fully inclusive basis, including all meals, local beverages
and all game activities. Ngala, meaning "lion" in
Shangaan, was the first private game reserve to be included
in the Kruger National Park. The private concession is 14
700ha and is situated in the Orpen region of the Kruger National
Park. Accommodation is in thatched chalets nestling under
a canopy of Mopane and Tamboti trees. Each chalet is en-suite
with a private veranda and exudes a romantic colonial ambience.
DAY 6
Ngala's location is one of the richest wildlife regions on
the continent, which provides a game-viewing experience amongst
the best in Africa. Wildlife to be seen is lion, leopard,
black and white rhino, large herds of elephant and the elusive
wild dog. At dusk and dawn, guests are taken on game drives
in open 4 x 4 safari vehicles by skilled, professional rangers
and trackers for a journey of discovery and excitement. For
those wanting closer contact with the African wilderness,
armed rangers lead guests on interactive bush walks which
allow fascinating insights into the landscape, animal tracks
and an intriguing host of beetles, butterflies and birds.
Breakfasts and lunches featuring Pan African cuisine are served
in the shade of an enormous weeping Boerbean tree. Guests
are welcomed back after their evening game drive and a banquet
is served in the dramatic candle-lit courtyard or an African
feast is to be had around the boma fire.
DAY 7
Check out of Ngala and transfer to Malelane where you will
be spending 3 nights at the Malelane Sun on a B & B basis
with dinner on your first two nights also included.
DAY 8
Play golf today at the prestigious, platinum rated Leopard
Creek Golf Course.
This ultra exclusive course and golfing estate is the brainchild
of magnate Johann Rupert. Bordering the Kruger National Park,
the course represents African golf at its best, with indigenous
bushveld bordering the immaculate fairways and greens. This
course is 6 571 m and par 72 and is magnificently set overlooking
the Crocodile River.
Included in your package is a golf shirt from this prestigious
course, so please supply us with your sizes.
DAY 9
Play golf today at The Nelspruit Golf Club.
This course has undergone radial changes and vast improvements
in recent times with Peter Matkovich having been commissioned
to revamp and modernize this course, which has ultimately
strengthened the design. A marvelous range of holes makes
up what is a demanding yet fair test and, after a strong start
to the round, the course presents opportunities for scoring
well. Length: 6 074m / par 71
DAY 10
Check out of the Malelane Sun and transfer to Johannesburg
International Airport for your connecting flight home.
